These are a small collection of poems that we have collected over time……. we would like to share a few with you all………….
A LOVELY THOUGHT
Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with £86,4090. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every penny of course!!
Each of us has a bank. Its name is TIME. Every morning it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose.
It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraught. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours.
There is no going back. There is no drawing against tomorrows. You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness and success! The clock is running. Make the most of today.
To realise the value of ONE YEAR, ask the student who failed the grade.
To realise the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.
To realise the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realise the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realise the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed the train.
To realise the value of ONE SECOND, ask a person who just avoided an accident.
To realise the value of ONE MILLISECOND, ask the person who won a silver medal in the Olympics.
Treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special enough to send your time.
And remember that time waits for no one. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it’s called The Present!!

LADY HEROIN
So now, little man, you’ve grown tired of grass, amphetamines, downers, acid and hash. And someone – pretending to be a friend introduces you to – Lady Heroin….
Well honey, before you start fooling with me, just let me inform you of how it will be. For I will seduce you and make you my slave, believe me, I’ve sent bigger men to the grave.
You think you could never become a disgrace and end up addicted to poppyseed waste. You’ll need lots of money, just like you’ve been told cos darling I’m more expensive than gold.
So you’ll start to inhale me one afternoon, take me in your arms – the beginning of doom. and once I have entered deep down your vein your old life will never be the same.
I’m expensive and dang’rous, and love to live fast but the feeling I give you will never last. You’ll swindle your mother, just for a buck You’ll turn into something vile and corrupt.
You’ll rob and you’ll steal for my narcotic charms and only find peace when I’m in your arms. and when it dawns, the monster you’ve grown, you’ll solemnly pledge to leave me alone.
You may think that you’ve got that mystical knack, well honey, just try getting me off your back. The vomits, the cramps, the guts tied in knots, your trembling nerves screaming for those needed shots. The hot sweats, the cold chills, the withdrawal pains, can only be cured by my little brown grains.
There’s no turning back, there’s no need to look, for deep down inside you know you’re still hooked. You’ve given your conscience, your morals, your heart, you’re mine forever – till death do us part.

BEFORE AND AFTER
Despair, depression, isolation and feelings of shame and guilt. What have I done to deserve this, nothing; I have been a good mother. I can’t tell anybody, they don’t want to know about drugs. Drugs are taboo. Keep it to myself, and get on with life. How can I ignore this pain I’m feeling inside. My family and myself are falling apart. Lies, deceit, manipulation, emotional blackmail, threats, stealing, it’s driving me crazy. I’ve lost my self-respect, my confidence and my personality. Drugs have taken over my family life. My son’s drug habit is driving me crazy.
I NEED HELP
People who understand me and who have been there themselves.
I NEED HELP
I’ve sought help and regained my sanity.
A safe, warm environment, were I was able to offload my feelings and emotions.
I’ve been educated about drugs and learnt how to deal with my son’s drug problem.
I now know I am not too blame.
This is “my” time and it is very precious to me.

MY NAME IS COCAINE
Beware my friend my name is cocaine, coke for short. I entered this country without a passport. Ever since then I’ve been hunted and sought, by Junkies and pushers and plain clothes Dick. But mostly by users, who need a quick fix.
I’m more valued than diamonds, more treasured than gold use me just once and you too will be sold. I’ll make a schoolboy forget his books, I’ll make a beauty queen neglect her looks. I’ll take a renowned speaker and make him a bore, I’ll take your mother and make her a whore. I’ll make a schoolteacher forget how to teach, I’ll make a preacher not want to preach.
All kinds of people have fallen under my wing, just look around, and you can see the results of my sting. I’ve got daughters turning on their mothers, I’ve got sisters robbing their brothers, I’ve got burglars robbing the Lords House, I’ve got husbands pimping their spouse.
I’m the king of crime, the prince of destruction, I’ll cause your organs of your body to malfunction. I’ll cause your babies to be born hooked, I’ll turn honest men into crooks, I’ll make you rob, steal and kill. When you are under my power, you have no will.
Remember my friend; my name is the ‘big C’, some call me the White Lady. I’ve destroyed actors, politicians and sports heroes. I’ve decreased bank accounts from millions to Zero. I’m a bad habit, to tough for the man, I’ve caused the Law to invest in a Battering Ram.
Yeah, I’m raising hell all over the earth, Don’t believe? Just check out Bryn Hurst, I’ve got them standing on street corners yelling ‘Rock’. I’ve made where stabbing and shooting are common on the Block.
Well now you know, what will you do? Remember my friend; its up to you. If you decide to jump I my saddle, you had better ride me well, for on the white horse of cocaine, I’ll ride you straight to HELL.
